Sustainability Advisory for the Gemstone and Jewellery Trade
We prepare – certification is independent
Since 27 September 2026, environmental and ethical claims in the EU need proof.
Customers, retailers and certification bodies ask more questions than ever: Where do your stones come from? What do you know about the people who mined and cut them? And can you back up the words in your marketing?
We help you answer these questions with evidence – with a gemmologist’s knowledge of the supply chain and without selling any seal or certificate.
What we offer:
Claims check
We review your website, social media, tags and shop window and give you wording you can prove.
Supply chain check
We map your suppliers, send and evaluate questionnaires and assess risks by gemstone and country.
Sourcing policy and supplier code
Based on the OECD and CIBJO guidance, ready to use.
Questionnaire readiness
For customer questionnaires, the coloured gemstone industry questionnaire and the origin statement for diamonds.
Certification readiness
Gap analysis against the RJC Code of Practices or B Corp, and referral to accredited certification bodies.
Supplier visits in Asia
Visits to cutters and dealers with a written report – documented visits, not audits.

Most coloured gemstones have no certification route.
The RJC covers only ruby, sapphire and emerald. Spinel, tourmaline, garnet, agate and many others face the same questions – they simply need careful documentation without a seal.
As gemmologists, we also look at what generalists miss: correct terminology, disclosed treatments and the right laboratory reports.
Our principles:
No certification
Certificates are issued by accredited, independent bodies. We prepare you and recommend suitable ones.
No audits
Our supplier visits are documented visits, not audits.
No seal to sell
We have no label of our own and no interest in selling one.
No legal advice
Legal questions go to lawyers; we work alongside them.
Industry tools first
We use the free questionnaires and toolkits of the industry instead of reinventing them.
Honest about limits
Where full traceability is not possible, we say so – and help you communicate it correctly.
